That’s Very Ralph!

Very Ralph is an autobiographical film about the legend himself, Ralph Lauren.

Growing up with two older brothers in Bronx and sharing wardrobes with them, Ralph knew he wanted more. He visualised what he wanted from life, it reflected on his style of clothing. Anything he wore, wherever he went.He was the talk of the party. A showstopper.

He starts selling four inch wide ties with labels reading "Polo Ralph Lauren" to Bloomingdale's, the go-to clothing store for an average American. Seeing tremendous growth, topping sales each year, Ralph Lauren became a brand.

Ralph had a vision. Every time he designed, he thought of it as a character in a movie. And he was the director of it. The designs vicariously spoke for itself. You wouldn't feel it was odd like other designers'. Throwing random things at the model and calling it fashion. His seemed natural, you would want to buy it, right that second.

He could imagine a lifestyle for the people. The clothing, the furniture, the decor and ultimately a sense of ownership of the self. That's how Ralph Lauren grew into a lifestyle brand than a clothing brand. Which very few designers could pull off. Permanently sealing a place for the company in the fast paced industry.

Can you imagine that every country he opened his store, people would queue up to see his collections and try to get his autograph. Who would want a designer's autograph?
Ralph embodied his culture and everyone wanted a piece of that.

Ralph had a story to tell people. He dreamt how people could live better every single day for almost 52 years. Always on his feet, thinking what's next?

What a wonderful feeling it is, when you change the way people live, when you give them something to dream about, when you give someone a sense of belonging in this world.

The most powerful man in the world, is the storyteller.

What's your story?
